Instrumental and Vocal Partnership Program

Diller-Quaile offers customized music programs in New York City public, charter, and independent schools. We work in collaboration with your school’s administration and music faculty to create unique programs that support each student’s musical growth. Diller-Quaile’s in-school programs can include weekly instruction, vocal and instrumental ensembles, musicianship courses, chamber music presentations, summer programs, and faculty development and support, designed to reflect each school’s music goals and needs.

“Diller-Quaile’s program instills a lifelong appreciation for how music deepens and enriches the relationships in the world around us” - Dawn Roy, Principal (HCES)

Together Diller-Quaile and Hunter College Elementary School (HCES) created a customized music experience for students. HCES 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students walk to Diller-Quaile for weekly group instrument and ensemble instruction in strings, woodwinds, and brass. Instrument classes and ensembles perform in concerts for their school and families each winter and spring. Diller-Quaile’s HCES instrument curriculum provides beginner and early intermediate students with a sequenced learning experience that develops technical skill as a foundation for expressive performance. The School’s approach tailors instruction to each student, with a long-term emphasis on building confident performance, fluent music reading, and skillful ensemble participation.

Yorkville East Middle School MS177

Diller-Quaile partners with Yorkville East Middle School MS177 to provide chorus and beginning clarinet classes onsite at MS177. Students in the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades are enrolled in these classes as an elective in their weekly program for the full school year. This exciting initiative offers students the opportunity to explore music through both vocal and instrumental instruction, enhancing their musical abilities and fostering a deeper appreciation for the arts.

If your school is interested in partnering with The Diller-Quaile School of Music, please contact Kathy Yiannoudes, Director of Instrumental and Vocal Programs, at kyiannoudes@diller-quaile.org.
