String Festivals bring students of all levels and ages together. Based on Shinichi Suzuki’s idea that students are motivated by hearing and performing with each other, advanced students play with and for the younger ones, providing support and a chance for younger students to hear pieces they will be studying in the future. Repertoire ranges from Suzuki’s Twinkle variations to concerto movements of Bach and Vivaldi, and beyond. Students join in on the pieces they know and listen when the selection is more advanced. String Festivals are held in the Performance Space and take the place of regularly scheduled group classes for that week.
