Diller-Quaile offers a comprehensive teacher development program for early childhood professionals, caregivers, and elementary general and music teachers. The Diller-Quaile School of Music Certificate in Early Childhood Music combines short-term workshops, curriculum development, mentoring, and a customized capstone project. Teachers may complete their certificate over time, and at their own pace. Workshops are offered multiple times throughout the year and during full-week intensives at Diller-Quaile.

The Summer Music Study Program (SMSP) Certificate in Early Childhood Music, Level 1, is a shorter certificate for teachers seeking an introduction to early childhood music or who wish to expand their classroom repertoire. The SMSP Certificate may count towards completion of the Diller-Quaile Certificate in Early Childhood Music.

Teachers and administrators may also register for individual workshops that support their musical goals for their centers and schools. Diller-Quaile’s hands-on workshops develop each teacher’s ability to facilitate joy-filled dynamic music experiences with young children. Most workshops can also be held off-site at your school or center. Please contact cmoore@diller-quaile.org for information about the Certificate in Early Childhood Music, the SMSP Certificate, individual workshops, or off-site music teacher development offerings.

The Diller-Quaile School of Music’s teacher development programs have been approved for Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) credit by the New York State Education Department.
