Instrumental and Vocal Department Application Timeline

Diller-Quaile’s 2017-2018 Catalog and A Guide to Your Child’s Diller-Quaile Education, which provide overviews of the School’s diverse offerings, are now available. Prospective parents and students may apply online for the 2017-2018 academic year or download a writable PDF application.

April 30, 2017 Application deadline for returning students
Tues., February 28 at 6:30 p.m., Thurs., April 6 at 8:00 a.m., or Fri., May 5 at 1:00 p.m. Required Open Houses/Information Sessions for prospective instrumental families (parents/guardians only)
June 2017 Interviews for new students
Scheduling of new and returning students
Mid-July 2017 Schedules are mailed to new and returning families
August 1, 2017 Enrollment contracts are mailed
September 1, 2017 Tuition is payable to the School in full by September 1, 2017; or families may pay in installments. Under our installment plan, 50% tuition is payable by September 1 and 50% by December 1. For signed contracts due after September 1, 2017, 50% tuition is due prior to the student's first lesson or class and 50% is due by December 1, 2017.
December 1, 2017 Tuition balance is due.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs) ABOUT INSTRUMENTAL AND VOCAL ADMISSIONS

Q: As a returning family, do we need to complete the application form each year?

A: Yes, all families must complete an application form for each student each year.

 

Q: As a new family, can we submit our application form before the Information Sessions?

A: Yes, we will accept new applications before the Information Sessions. However, all interviews for new students take place after attendance at any of the required Information Sessions.

 

Q: Can I apply for my child after classes have begun?

A: Yes. Though students generally enroll for a 30-week academic year beginning in September, the School will admit students later in the academic year if an appropriate placement is available.

 

Q: What if I am unsure which instrument my child should study?

A: Department administrators will address this question at the Information Session to help families determine how to move forward. Students who are undecided may be able to interview for more than one instrument.

 

Q: I am interested in enrolling my child at Diller-Quaile next year, but I am undecided about which weekly class (Early Childhood or Instrumental) to choose or instrument to study.

A: We recommend that you submit your application early even if you are undecided, indicating your areas of interest on the form. School administrators will work with you to determine the appropriate program for your child.

 

Q:  What if my child’s availability changes once I have submitted the form?

Q: Is the musicianship class required?

A: All students who enroll in individual instrument or voice lessons are required to take musicianship classes.
