STORY DRAMATIZATION (3&4 years)
Children's favorite stories and folk tales are brought to life through singing, movement, and improvisation. Orff instruments (tone bar instruments) such as xylophones, metallophones, and glockenspiels are used along with a variety of instruments from around the world. As the year progresses, children enjoy building upon their dramatizations using a rich vocabulary of instrumental and vocal improvisations. Non-pitched percussion instruments (rhythm sticks, maracas, drums, cymbals, etc.) and props enhance the experience. In addition to a head teacher, every class features a pianist who supports the children's improvisations and provides accompaniment using a variety of musical styles.
