Early Childhood Music Education

MUSIC AND MOVEMENT (2.7-3.5 years)
Children explore rhythm, melody, form, phrasing, expressive qualities, and timbre through singing, movement, circle dances, musical dramatizations, and ear training games. As an extension of these experiences, children are introduced to the notation of music symbols.

Small percussion instruments are integrated into every class. The curriculum is shaped to the developmental needs and musical skills of this age group and provides a rich foundation for instrumental and vocal study. In addition to a head teacher, every class features a pianist who improvises accompaniments in a variety of musical styles.
