The deadline for Participant Applications for Paula Robison's class is January 20, 2012. Enclose full payment (check or money orders only) with completed forms. In lieu of tickets, names will be placed on a guest list.

Glenn Dicterow Violin Master Class

Violinist Glenn Dicterow has established himself worldwide as one of the most prominent American concert artists of his generation, winning numerous awards and competitions including the Young Musicians Foundation Award and Coleman Award, The Julia Klumpke Award, and the Bronze Medal in the International Tchaikovsky Competition. Mr. Dicterow is a graduate of Juilliard, where he was a student of Ivan Galamian. In 1980 he joined the New York Philharmonic as Concertmaster and has since performed as soloist every season. Highlights of his tenure have been solo performances at the White House, the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, as well as performing Leonard Bernstein's "Serenade" during the New York Philharmonic's 1989 concert tour of the United States with the composer conducting. Mr. Dicterow is on the faculty of The Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music.

Pianist Wu Han is one of the most influential classical musicians in the world today. She has an unusually multifaceted career as a concert performer, recording artist, educator, arts administrator, and cultural entrepreneur. Wu Han has appeared at many of the world's most prestigious concert series and venues, including Wigmore Hall in London, New York's Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Washington's Kennedy Center and Library of Congress, and Boston's Symphony Hall to name a few. Wu Han's international tours have led her to major cities in Europe and Asia. For many years, she taught alongside the late Isaac Stern at Carnegie Hall. She has appeared annually on the Aspen Music Festival's Distinguished Artist Master Class series.

Paula Robison's elegant artistry and passionate intellect have inspired the musical world. Born to a family of writers, actors, dancers and musicians, her groundbreaking performances have made her a role model for young flutists everywhere. Ms. Robison has commissioned over thirty works for flute. Her affinity for Brazilian music consistently adds another dimension to her programming of solo and chamber music repertoire. Ms. Robison is also renowned for her master classes, original transcriptions and books on the art of flute playing. She has collaborated with I Soloisti Veneti, the Budapest Strings, New York's Mostly Mozart, Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Marlboro and Santa Fe Music Festivals. Regular worldwide recital appearances include an annual sold-out Vivaldi series at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.

At the age of 15, David Finckel made his debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra in Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations as winner of the orchestra's junior competition. At 17, Finckel played for Mstislav Rostropovich, and soon after became the great cellist's first American pupil. His studies spanned a nine-year period, culminating in a performance with the Basel Symphony under Rostropovich's direction. As cellist of the Emerson String Quartet, Finckel has won nine Grammy Awards including two honors for "Best Classical Album," three Gramophone Magazine Awards, and the prestigious Avery Fisher Prize, awarded in 2004 for the first time to a chamber ensemble; and holds honorary doctorates from Bard College and Middlebury College.
